Hello and Merry Christmas on everyone’s part, we went on vacation a few days ago and the wind noises with the roof box bother me pretty much. I voluntarily do not drive more than 120km/h, although I would not drive faster than 140 without loud wind noises. I have original Mercedes basic rack for a CLS C218 and an original Mercedes roof box with 450l, but an old model, I guess 10-15 years old. The T-nut is covered with a rubber strip and for the screw I have drilled holes into the rubber strip. As far as I can remember, wind noises were only noticeable with basic beams when I got the roof box. I don’t know now whether the basic beams are the problem or whether the roof box is even worse. It’s not a whistle, but just loud. Make users write that the wind noises are very well bearable or hardly noticeable up to a certain speed. In the appendix are pictures like me the Dac From Mercedes there is now a new roof box, similar to the Thule Motion. Manufacturer of the new MB roof box is also Thule. The new box is flat below, which is why it could be significantly better in terms of noise. However, the one type of claws that grip around the base beams. These are in turn additional interference contours in the wind. Are there any tips regarding position of the roof box or better products?
