Hello Motor Talk Friends, short info to describe my situation, then the questions I emigrated from Bosnia (not EU) to Germany (since April 2016 I am logged in here).Drive a VW Passat 3BG 2004, Diesel, 1.9 TDI (which is registered on my father in Bosnia until 05.08.2016, have a certificate that I can use the car abroad). I asked the registration office how long I can drive a car in Germany that is registered abroad. t I got: Quote: Quotation: “Vehicles registered in another state may be temporarily driven domestically. Temporary is valid up to one year after crossing the border. Prerequisite is that sufficient insurance coverage (especially in Germany) exists.” After that I asked what is “sufficient insurance coverage”, in answer I got: Quote: Quote: In Germany there is a compulsory liability for vehicle liability. This also applies to foreign vehicles. A certificate of liability insurance must be carried with you. So now my questions 1. Which exactly liability insurance for foreign vehicles? How much does the insurance cost? Because the car is registered in Bosnia until 05.08.2016, and I will return it until 05.08.2016… 2. If I buy a car in Germany in the first year and on me registration, do I get the taxes back in the first year? 3. Can I transfer from my father the car insurance (which from 1995-1998 in Germany) to him is transferred to me and continue (is cheaper)? Thank you
