Volvo v50 timing belts torn, what now?

Hi, I was unfortunately smeared with the tooth of a kilometer when I bought my Volvo V50 2.0 D (MW). The speedometer was reduced by 180,000 km. Unfortunately, I noticed this when the timing belt quit the service. Of course, the engine doesn’t start any more. Since I don’t want to continue to fix the cart with great effort at the moment. Therefore, I would like to do the engine myself. My question is about the mounting position of the valves. Are these installed perpendicular to the piston or oblique? Maybe there was no collision of pistons and valves.
