Hello municipality. In September 2011 we bought a used polo (EZ 30.4.2010) with approx. 17,000 km. The dealer had an inspection on the vehicle before the transfer, where no defect was detected. Now the polo has approx. 22,000 km down. During the last inspection (last week) we were informed that the shock absorber is defective at the rear right side and should be replaced. With culant of VW approx. 95 € cost. In case of a warranty request to the dealer, or request of a cost assumption of the 95 € we have been informed that no cost assumption takes place. Now I wonder whether after 5,000 km there is a lack of material or an additional wear of the shock absorber, especially since VW gives a culant after all. May a shock absorber break after such a short time? Shouldn’t the dealer with the complete repair be liable now? What are your suggestions? Thank you.
