Outback 2006 Gasoline vs Octavia 2011 Diesel

Hello! I have signed up because I have a question where I turn around: It is the purchase of a car. I live in North Norway and I have to go here and there on bad roads, and 4×4/AWD is a criterion. Driving distances are changing, from daily 10km (grade in winter, in summer more bike), until once twice a month 400km, in some months more. So a colorful mix, and long distance will become more (therefore the consideration diesel). Now I have to choose (my wife w ill kein Manuellen): – 2006er Subaru Outback, 2.5, 168 000km, Automat – 2011er Skoda Octavia 2.0TDI, 4×4, DPF, DSG, 250 000km. Now I can not look into the cars. The Subaru is used by the dealer, the Octavia, but with all services and service booklet (in Norway cars are usually in relatively good condition). Where would you tend? The Subaru has far less KM, but the Octavia looks good. Which car would be more ecological? Sure, both pollute. but it is a concern and hybrids/electrical are not affordable or do not meet the requirements, is it now petrol vs diesel … the Skoda is clearly better with CO2 and consumption..what about NOx/particles with petrol EUR 4 vs Diesel EURO 5? Both are quickly paid off and are exchanged for hybrids/electrics after 2-3 years, but resale is also a topic.
