…was at the weekend in South Tyrol on a US-Car meeting with my 79er Ford PickUp, converted to liquefied gas operation. I drove from Sterzing to Merano over the 2100 meter high Jaufenpass. Is actually only for Porsches and motorbikes. I was constantly driving in the 2nd gear, at every turn down into the first and again full throttle – and the 60 km long, the electric fan did not come to rest. Woe it came to one – mirror fold in and through. But my fat guy survived well. – on the way down he could cool down again. I travelled back and forth 560 km and consumed 145 liters of gas. That’s 26 liters on 100 km. I’m very satisfied with that. I actually expected about 30 liters. Fuel consumption is between 20 and 23 liters on 100 km. Certainly there is also more economical V8, but my drink is like a hole. Can everyone calculate themselves what you save with a gas price of 50 cents per litre. Oh yes, at the meeting with some Italian Chev y and Dodge Autogas V8 drivers spoke – there is no rarity. Also the V8 Blubbersound is fully preserved. Do you have any questions? Just get started….! Greetings Claus
