Purchase advice Automatic or manual transmission with concrete question of understanding 🙂

Hello guys, I have a concern to ask if the control car or the automatic transmission. First of all – I need a new car, because the 4-wheel golf has given up the spirit. Many kilometers and many wear parts have led to it being slaughtered now. He had an automatic transmission and has actually run quite reliably and well. Previously I drove an Opel Corsa B as the control car. Since I had the 4-wheel golf, (approx. 2 years) I have the switching I find the luxury of not switching really cool. But it’s also that I am a low earner and have already felt that the automatic consumes more. I sometimes drive short distances, but also visit my parents often and drive there about 4 hours of highway. For me now the question arises whether I buy something like a four-way or five-way golf as a switchcar or automatic. (doesn’t necessarily be a golf) What I’m now gru The question is: Does a 4-speed converter on the motorway consume more than one shift car in the fifth gear with the same power and weight? So I’m really interested in understanding this. Let’s say that we have two 4-speed golfs, both of them equally heavy, the same model. One has the four-speed automatic transmission and the other has a 5-speed manual transmission. If both of them are now on the motorway 120 km/h straight If you say that the automatic transmission still consumes 0.5 – 1 liter more even on the highway, then I would think about a control car. If you say that does not make any difference, because both are in the highest gear and both have the same rotational number, then I would actually have to do it. h buy an automatic transmission again, because in urban traffic the luxury of non-switching is simply worth the extra consumption and money. Do you basically understand my concern? So it is also an understanding question… How this behaves with a very modern automatic transmission with e.g. 6 steps would also interest me, but in fact this will not be financially inside. Financially it will probably be a 4-stage automatic. (budget approx. 2500 Euro) rage, what do you think of stepless gears or automatic gears like that used in some Corsa C (this Easytronic)? They consume little AND I drive automatic, but both are not really popular… Dear Greetings and thank you for your answers, Johannes 🙂
