BMW E39 530i vs. Volvo V70 II 2.4 T5

Hello dear forum, today it’s about a car for my father (known here under the user name “heulgetrieb”. His V70 TDI is still running great, but you can always think about replacement. One thing in advance: I convinced him of the advantages of a gas conversion, he will no longer buy diesel, I think. The reason for this was among other things the videos of various acceleration and speed orgies with corresponding sound, which made him think – combiniert t with the fact that a vehicle converted to gas gets both a green badge and is cheaper in the tax as well as the insurance. The driving profile is rather rural (Landkreis TÖL) and often through the mountains, what you do in Upper Bavaria just now and then a long distance trip on the highway (Dresden, quite rarely also the Baltic Sea). My father is on understatement, and it must be a combi. What do you think? Bavarian quality work with silk-soft M54 engine (one of the best that ever existed) combined with the rear drive and slightly sporty tuning? Or Swedish (set with Ford parts) quality with the 260 hp-5 cylinder, which one does not look at its bully power from the outside and which is not so common on German roads? Which actually has the more practical cargo space? They both have clear and well-processed cockpits. Even in maintenance the vehicles should hardly differ, I suppose. of course, there are more different replicas, but you have to look for them in the Volvo. How do you think about it? Even as a BMW fan I am unsure
