Hello and good evening, for 2.5 years I drive a G 400 , am super satisfied with it, have travelled since the approx. 40Tsd. km without problems. The G has now run 230Tsd km. After the last inspection I was made aware of the steering chain. In the cold condition there is a rattled/clamping noise, which I have so far assigned to the hydropumps, this is after 2-3 sec. again away. Otherwise problem-free run, also in idle. The G has been with Mercedes around their One-sided opinion, after cold start comes the sounds of the chain. Has someone experience with the exchange outside Mercedes at “free” or motor specialists to achieve a cheaper repair, the complete exchange (chain, rails, tensioner) at MB should cost over 5Tsd.
