Financing used cars – in my situation bullshit?

Dear Motor-Talk Forum, a great request for advice to you!Short background: I am 20 years old, am currently doing an apprenticeship and still going to work. This brings me to a net earnings of around 1 000€. Expenditures for mobile phones, memberships like Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime, etc. amount to about 200€ per month. Since I do something here and there, however, I would like to reckon with 250€ to 300€ monthly costs. In the “worst” case, I remain al so “only” 700€ net. I usually do not have expenses for rent, meals, etc.. Currently I drive a Mercedes-Benz C180, BJ 09/2000, i.e. model series W202. I bought it for 1 800€, 1st hand from an old lady. The car is very well maintained, however, has many rust spots, which even go beyond the known and typical places. Furthermore, I have to invest about 250€ in the car so far (car has been in my possession for 3 months) and must be made: – Egg The front brake linings at the wear limit – brake hoses at the rear porous – replacement lock tailgate (“Comfort problem”, as lock only does not work electr.) The fart in my head: A mix of frustration about the upcoming costs and the fact that it is my dream car, I would like to buy a new car now. To be exact a CLK 320 CDI Coupé, BJ 02/2009. On the used car side of Mercedes-Benz there is a vehicle, which in terms of equipment corresponds to 98% of what I would like to have. The only shortcoming that the vehicle has to show is the purchase price of 14 500€. A financing with a deposit of 2 000€ (the expected proceeds of my current car) and 54 months duration I come to 257,36€ per month. The effective annual interest rate of 4.99% or nominal interest rate of 4.88% amounts to a total amount of 15 897,44€. Everyone around me (parents, girlfriends, acquaintances) is trying to get this idea out of my head. In some respects, I am also aware that the decision is very unreasonable. However, I love this car and can’t think of anything else. I am constantly trying to get the high cost (not to forget the increased car tax, the damned high insurance, because it’s mandatory) with my passion for the vehicle to r My question to you: Am I completely through and should I see that I am treated as soon as possible, or do you see a way to justify my project in any way? A special appeal applies to the parents here on Motor-Talk. I thank you very much in advance and hope for a constructive discussion!
