Hello together, my Santa Fe 2,2 CDI with 200000 km has stopped on the highway. After the diagnosis of a workshop the high pressure pump is defective, one has found in the pump chips. First thought : such a crap….. The demand for what now for possibilities came the statement: Throwing away If the pump is changed it may be that chips have placed themselves in the injection nozzles and these then also have to be replaced, moreover there is the possibility that the running bushings even when the car is running again, there is the possibility that after a few weeks it will again blablabla….and and and possibly and so on. Repair costs above ground not feasible. My plan: buy used pump (have already one) , install, flush and filter fuel systems, test. how high is the probability that this leads to the desired success, are the objections of the mechanics really so high in probability? Thanks if ever one answers my questions, doesn’t really know what to do… Desperado
