Hello, at our SLK, Ertstzul. 1/2013, at the narrow painted strip over the windshield the clear varnish dissolves large area. There are no mechanical influences or similar visible. Once started the driving wind detachs the clear varnish further, so that the damaged place becomes ever larger. We were immediately at our MB dealer. There a standardized adhesion test was made and the place extensively examined. The adhesion test resulted in a very bad ha The MB dealer now wants to have almost 900,-€ from us for the repair. Of course, we do not pay for this and leave the place as it is now. Since it is very visible and conspicuous it clearly shows the great paint quality of this premium manufacturer. Oh yes: even in the exhaust tailpipes there is almost no black paint anymore and also on the front of my same older C-class there are larger paint solutions on the plastic parts. Knowing well of these problems MB does not give a paint guarantee on its new vehicles.
