I have a big problem with my Toyota Prius: it consumes about 26% more than indicated. I have never reached the 3.9l after more than 10,000 driven, 5.3l are the norm with me. I have already been reprimanded three times and have been told by the dealer with a smile in my face that I should have a Dekra consumer report for more than 1000 euros. I think: actually, the low consumption is a guaranteed feature for me. Why a burden of proof here I can’t understand it. Toyota is now taking responsibility and, for me, the Prius is an eco-fake that I can’t advise anyone to. Due to the company’s impossible communication behavior in terms of concealed defects, my vehicle has also lost thousands of euros in value in 6 months. I also demanded compensation from Toyota here, but I didn’t even get an answer. I therefore turned to a US law firm that via S ammel lawsuit in the US state of Alabama claims damages against Toyota. Too bad that these measures are not provided for in Germany, but I was assured that my case in the US can lead to damages in principle. I gladly make the brief available to other Toyota victims. My conclusion: Toyota has seriously damaged me as a buyer, deceived me in terms of defects and more than disappointed in terms of consumption. Testimonials like Heike Makatsch and many others raise expectations that the product Prius does not meet. I can only strongly advise against buying a Prius III due to the experience gained. Perhaps there is an expert or test engineer here in the forum who can help me in terms of consumption reports, yet only one thing wants to do: get rid of the vehicle and never have anything to do with Toyota.
