US classics as a winter car ?

Hello, I play like so many others also with the idea of getting myself a US classic. I know that you are constantly being annoyed with something like this here in the forum, but I am not concerned here with a purchase consultation, but about whether the thought of such a car makes any sense in my case at all. And indeed I only have a garage, with us parking spaces are scarce, and half a year I do not want to give up on the car either, therefore only the use as a year-round everyday car would come with me in question. But: is such a thing reasonable at all? The value of such a car is definitely in the 5-digit € range, and I guess that such a car with an old original US paint etc. was not particularly preserved rust? And is such a car with a thick engine at the front and little weight at all in winter? At the moment I drive a 4.3 liter Mercedes with rear drive, but it has at least real winter tires and ESP, that makes me quite clear in winter. is also very rusty, but I could imagine that it is even worse with US cars… I already have a little experience with body welding and rust prevention, but repaint the whole car and scratch and rust each year in constant worry about the H-approval and I don’t really want what do you mean?
