General Motors has chosen E85 as tomorrow’s fuel. Rick Wagoner, CEO of General Motors, prefers the biofuel E85 as a short-term response to the environmental discussion. “E85 offers a high potential, but the infrastructure still needs to be improved,” said Wagoner on the car. Show in Detroit. The company already offers 25 models worldwide that use E85. With the Hummer Hx Concept and the Saab 9-4X BioPower Concept, two more are added. Saab will go into series production in 2009, and the Hummer study will at least bring the V6 drivetrain into mass production. “From 2010 onwards, all Hummer models will also be available with E85 engines,” explains Mark LaNeve, Head of Sales at GM in the USA.
