First car – What should it be?

Hello everyone, the driver’s license is made and now it’s supposed to be your own car. The thought is as cheaply mobile as possible. Both with purchase and maintenance. The first thought was a Twingo, because I have heard good things here and there and that you can still see them on the road must have reasons. The problem is that my wife has problems with this poorly feathered chassis (we have already driven a lot twingo), nausea etc. The Clio 3 of my father you like, but he has already had a lot of fun at just 70,000km. I don’t know so well and have some questions: Is it worth spending more and, for example, buying something like an older A3 or golf or are these cars not so much better than a Renault? Are there cars where spare parts are much cheaper than others? I thank you for every answer. Don’t hold back with detailed answers, I like to learn about it. Greetings Aaron
