Hello! I am (currently annoyed) driver of a Peugeot 406 Break ST, 2.0 l 16 V, 132 hp, EZ 08/97, mileage almost 130Tkm, at the time acquired by me as a new vehicle. The 406-series purred so far on the whole always quite uniformly, the engine shows in its running behavior no abnormalities. On the side about a year however, during the ride it comes to regular engine ossifications. which occur in all areas of use, from slow driving in the city At the same time, tachometers and speedometers show a continuous drop in their activities until the engine stops and dies. At high speed, it is sometimes, but not always, possible to restart the engine by turning it back into a lower gear (e.g. on d At a lower speed, the engine dies immediately and the passenger car remains lying down. Then the start of the engine always succeeds, but often only after several times activating the ignition key, i.e. several start attempts. Actually always (but not only then!) the problem occurs after the full fuelling of the vehicle, then regularly so after approx. 5-10 km drive. The problems, if they occur, are then mostly persistent for the duration of the journey. It can then happen that the r 406er “all a few meters” of this ride has the problems and stops. If you turn off the 406er then for some time (e.g. overnight), it may be that the problem does not occur for 14 days and more. But it is not always like that. And one more point: the described problems occur almost always only in the “operational warm” condition of the car, so only when it has run after a cold start some time. The fault memory of the vehicle shows no error! Who can here a Diagno and make recommendations? Thank you very much!
