Since October 2008 I have bought a 407,SW with 100 kW (diesel) the car from a Peugeot dealer with warranty. Km stand 48000 on purchase. At 56000 km a clutch slip occurred. A clutch wear was also determined by the dealer, which meant that 811 € were due. On my driving mode the wear was certainly not. So a new clutch was installed and when I picked up the car I was told that the front shock damper They also have to be changed. One was also surprised that I hadn’t noticed it yet. I then went to ATU and asked if they could replace the shock absorbers. However, there are no shock absorbers for the 407 at ATU. My big worry is, if I have the car repaired at Peugeut, that are possibly used original parts of Peugeot, which make the problem a repeat factor. Of course, these are “wear parts”. Can anyone tell me if there are shock absorbers at the front for a 407 SW, which are not produced or purchased by Peugeot? I don’t want to pay 360€ every 2 years. With my VW the first after 230 000 km were still in order. Then my second concerns: We want to go on holiday for the first time with the 407 SW with our caravan (1360kg). Is the car able to overcome larger distances n ? I mean the clutch is then certainly heavily loaded. Does anyone have experience with the caravan operation with a 407 SW diesel? many thanks
