Here is the description of my experience with the GTÜ test office ******** in the framework of the HU/AU in Jan-Feb 2012, vehicle Toyota Prius II, year 2006 Mr. GTÜ-Prüfer (name changed) as a diploma engineer was unfortunately not able to enter the idle test mode without external help. After several wrong attempts and telephone calls with a help station, this hurdle was taken, apparently serious. However, he needed three attempts to the AU- After the first, he claimed that the vehicle did not pass the test due to the malfunction of the catalizer, but this was not confirmed because all the values were in the normal range. In the gas plant test, it was found that the GTÜ tester was not able independently to locate all relevant components (electromagnet valve, liquid and gas phase filters, gas and cooling fluid lines) and that the test was carried out by the and In addition, I had to find out a lot of difficulties with regard to the understanding of Mr. GTÜ testers regarding the working and operation of the braking system of my Prius, namely that the locking, braking force distribution and consequently braking effect are controlled by an electronic lifting simulator computer and not primarily by the applied pedal pedal. from the wheels and calipers, without measuring their thickness (permissible minimum: 20mm, actual measurement: 20.9mm, no cracks or similar) of a purely subjective visual test (rust marks discovered on brake discs), which takes place in the flashlight light, priority over the facts (here: braking distance, measured values of the service brake, which prove far more than satisfactory braking effect in relation to the overall weight of the vehicle and even the ones of the last HU from Jan 2010 with the E The brakes of my vehicle are seriously examined at least twice a year when changing wheels, so that all necessary measurements and visual checks are carried out. The last examination and function test of 15.12.2012 did not reveal any impairments – sufficient strength and normal working condition of all brake discs and pads was available. Thus, it is not comprehensible at all. Mr. GTÜ tester also certifies that some of my vehicle’s incandescent lamps are inadmissible for use in road traffic – on the grounds that they appear to him to be too bright. However, Mr. GTÜ tester was obviously able to show that there was a lack of transparency in the classification of the brake discs as “significantly defective”. Finally, the examiner was not able to write his own name without any errors (comparison of the test report with the AU page). During the repeated demonstration of the vehicle, which took place more than 2 weeks later and was known in good time for all the parties involved, the minimum permissible values in the area of brem disc thickness were first interpreted absolutely wrongly by the management of the test office – defense of the professional honour?. This time one invests in deepening the expertise in hybrid vehicles, so that one could at least read the current km stand independently with next Prius customers. PS. In this test office no appointments to HU/AU are given in advance. Based on my experience I now know why…
