Hi everybody, I’m driving a nice 320i E36 convertible, which is no longer suitable for my driving profile, both in terms of consumption and space. Therefore, something new should happen. As I’m tired of stacking the back bench, it should be a vehicle with a little more luggage volume this time. Since I’m traveling relatively much on motorways, the new one should not have less than 100 hp, yet be economical in terms of consumption. Requirements: At least golf size, but prefer golf variant size economical in the verbr also power from 100 hp and more diesel/petrols is relatively irrelevant (currently I drive about 1500 kilometers a month + smaller city trips; here would probably make more sense, wouldn’t it?) Route profile: 70% motorway, 30% city Price maximum 250€ Suchumkreis Braunschweig <100KM As favourites I have the Golf 4 Variant as 1.6 petrol in mind. However, I have heard that the consumption level(8-10L) is probably not much less than with my current vehicle (9-11L) In terms of motorway rides, I am also unsure whether the 105 hp is enough, or if you have to be afraid to be smoked on the left lane. Other competitors: -E46 Touring (optically the absolute favonrit, but cost-wise no alternative - as BMW fan must be listed here ;D ) -Ford Focus Tunier -Skoda Octavia Combi -Opel Astra Caravan Some of the alternatives are much cheaper in purchasing than in golf. d here advisable? Are there any other useful alternatives? What is there to consider? I am grateful about every advice and experience report.
