Attention is on the preview of the VW 511: A model between Passat and Phaeton was in discussion for a long time, the model marked as 511, is fortunately a departure from the previous idea of the giant luxury van, but a kind of coupé limousine in the styl of the Mercedes CLS. The drawing of the car spontaneously reminded me of a reincarnation of the old car. Passat Flüsshecks with a Corrado-like rear. The vehicle is supposed to be a sporty alternative to the Passat, and a competitor model to the BMW 5. The Coupé form justifies VW with this the “The gap between Passat and Phaeton is too small for another step tail model.” Sounds reasonable in my view, also throws a hint to my favorite topic: the class classification of the Passat. If it were to be treated like a 3 or A4, there would surely also be room for another con servative limousine like the 5 or A6 in the VW program. I find the coupé idea, pushing into the upper class as an alternative quite useful, because conventional step-neck customers, will also decide in future for the passat if they want to drive VW.
