Marten damage / consequential damage / fire??

Hello dear, I have a question for the insurance experts among you. On Wednesday (my birthday…) my car suddenly burned at a red traffic light. Diagnosis of my mechanic: Martendamst. The cattle are said to have torn off a insulation mat, which then lay on the exhaust pipe and caught fire. The whole has passed to the fuel line. Randomly present police deleted the whole with a powder extinguisher quite quickly and it is except for insulation mat and Trei bstoffleitung probably did not cause any really big damage. Now the corresponding question(s) (n): With the Direct Line in the tariff “classic” I am insured against marten damage & consequential damage up to 1,000 euros. So far so good. However, the damage is probably higher, because these powder extinguishers are probably salt-containing, these salts attract liquid and thus the whole engine space begins to corride. So it was explained to me. Economic total damage (residual value I estimate to approx. 5,000 euros) The question now arises to me whether Direct Line can call itself to say, ok Marder follow-up damage, 1000 euros we pay, beautiful life still. OR, however, whether here holds, that in the partial cascade of course also fire is included. Or is it generally completely different, because the damage caused by the deletion of the police? Does anyone know advice?
