Dear community, what seemed to be simple at the beginning is now getting really complicated. I moved from Austria to Germany. Meanwhile I drive my second car and have not built an accident for 11 years. The first car was insured, as is often the case, on my father. I drove that for 9 years without an accident and then took over the classification for my current vehicle. I also got confirmation of the damage-free years from my current insurance, which is in the lowest level, but shows only a history of the last 2 years, namely since I bought the car and insured on me. In Austria it is no problem to let this classification be transferred, in Germany I have already classified 2 insurance on the SF2, which I do not want to accept. Short information on the German and Austrian system: In Germany the damage-free years apply. In Austria basically also, only those in a r Bonus/Malus scale counted: As a beginner you get the level 9 (100% contribution) and you pay if you don’t cause an accident, at some point until level 0 (40% contribution). Then there are some levels above the 9 for motorists that cause a more frequent accident and also a few minus levels if you drive longer without damage. Currently I am at level 0 and should be classified in the SF11. If I am graded into the SF2, I pay much more. t my old insurer in Austria was to confirm the damage-free years of my first car and to provide my father with a confirmation that I was the driver. That was out of the question again for an insurer here in Germany. As long as my name doesn’t appear on a document, they don’t want to go into it at all. Has anyone had any experience with it? Thank you very much!
