Hello dear community, today was a black day for us. In the workshop it was opened to us that the reason for the unusual switching behavior of the last days was a capital gear damage and the cost for the replacement of the complete transmission probably amounted to approx. EUR 5,500,- (!) . A repair is not possible. Our Mini Cooper A has EZ 01/2002 and only 84,000 km on the speedometer. That probably cannot be, that an automatic transmission with Tiptronic already the spirit on The mini is still limited in speed, but it doesn’t switch normally high, i.e. 1-2-3-4-5, but 1-2-5, even at irregular intervals. Are now wheelless and perplexed and don’t know what to do. Are there experiences in the community, what to do here? Would be great, are technical laymen and so we can of course tell a lot.
