August 26, 2007. Since the market launch in January 2006, Honda has sold more than 22 000 units of the new and futuristicly styled Civic in Germany. This year, the high demand continues – reinforced by the sports versions Type S and Type R. The production of the 2007 Type R of more than 1000 vehicles of the Honda Motor Europe (North) is already sold out. The 1.8 l i-VTEC with 38 percent is still the most popular drive unit of the Civic. The line “Sport-E is the most preferred equipment variant with 34 percent as in the previous year. The Civic Hybrid, the overall winner of the Auto-Umweltliste des Verkehrsclub Deutschland (VCD), is also increasingly in demand in Germany. The registration figures have almost doubled: at the end of July 2007 the last year’s sales result was reached. At 15 stations of the Avis car rental, the Honda Civic Hybrid can still be rented at the introductory price from 89 euros for the weekend until September 30, 2007.
