Does the new CRV with 1.6 l as diesel pull as good as the “old” with 2.2 l?

Hello, since 2014 I have a CRV 2,2 l diesel (automatic) as a service vehicle. Now it will be replaced next year and I would like to have a CRV again. However, I ask myself whether the 1.6 l machine is still as suitable as a towing vehicle for a caravan as the 2.2 l machine. Does the force come from the cylinder capacity (reduced) or from the torque (same)? It is also specified with 1,500 kg of draw load. By installing an oil cooler it can pull 2,000 kg. That’s the “old” model as well as the new model. But does the new one pulls so well? Unfortunately, there is never a demonstration model with trailer coupling at the dealer’s, so I can not try it before. Has someone perhaps used it as a towing vehicle? With the 1.6 l machine and automatic? And has ideally had the CRV with the 2.2 l machine before or driven it? Would I be pleased about reports.
