Hello everyone, have recently had a funny problem with my Phaeton V10Tdi Bj 08/2003. The good has so far covered about 190TKm, without major problems. To the apron, before description of the problem, – the oil level is in the cold condition in the normal range, slightly below MAX. – the last service was at 177TKM at the VW friendly – engine running quiet, has full power Since recently, I have the following problem. If I drive longer distances from 100 / 120 KM, I get the message ( Engine oil was too low). I thought at the beginning it would be the oil level sensor, but the problem is this: If the message comes and I control the oil level, the measuring rod is completely dry, as if there was no drop oil in the engine. Even if I wait 1 or 2 min no oil is visible on the measuring rod. But if I open the oil influence lid at the top of the engine, then the oil is there again. Named on the measuring rod the oil level is visible again and the message “Motor oil was too low ” extinguishes. The game starts again after approx. 120 / 130 kilometers driven. The oil filter was replaced as a precaution, but also without success. The funny thing was that when the filter changed, the tank of the oil filter was almost 3/4 full with oil. My workshop is a bit perplexed, because you never had such a problem and there is no “normal” explanation for it. At the beginning it was said of the friendly that it is the oil pump, but the pump works otherwise the oil would not get to “up”. A In addition, the message “motor oil pressure” should appear. I may have typed on crankcase ventilation, false air, but I was told that this would probably be noticeable with an unround motor run or power loss, which is not the case here. I was told by an open workshop that the measuring rod and the oil level sensor are in a “separated” area in the oil tank with a filter sitting in front, which is possibly clogged or dirty and the return run i n negatively influenced this area, can that be so ? Does someone have an idea what it could be or what one could possibly look or try out ? Would be grateful for any tip Fotis
