Hello you dear Renault experts, in advance, there is a search function and there are certainly many written about it, but I still want to ask the following question(s) and hope for an answer. I want to buy a “new” used car. I have to transport some saddles, that is, the rear seats must be out and I need space. I am on the highway a lot, so it should be a diesel and an automatic. After some consideration I am on the Espace od I really liked the Grand Espace with its really good equipment and its space. In addition, I want to be able to pull a horse hanger in an emergency and also there would be enough for me the 2t trailer load of the Renault. I think of a vehicle in a price range below 5000,- EUR, I know that is not much, but there is no more. Now my question. It is always to be read that one leaves the fingers of the 2,2l dci and the 3l dci s The cars in my price range ran on average around 200,000 km, which I could live with, because it certainly won’t be the last car. So what exactly is so bad about the engines? What happens with it? I read somewhere that someone said, “they only run 150,000 km then they go up…”. That can’t be the case with them then, they already ran more. So we assume in the best case that the timing belt was changed and the car was “halfway” reasonably maintained. What can happen to the engines then so bad? I hope and look forward to answers.
