Hello, I bought an Opal Astra Caravan Diesel 1.9 (100,000km, BJ 2005) in September. After 2 weeks alternator+battery broke, after a few weeks only a seal on the oil filter?, then at some point the light just didn’t turn on, only after I had restarted… and now the car is back in the workshop because it raced at the first 3cm pass through the clutch and the gears can be switched much worse within just a few days. After the first h I’ve been driving the car for 15,000km and only the highway. I’ve now done enough painting and I just want to get rid of the car. Luckily I have a 1 year warranty for a smoked car, which will not help me with the clutch either. By August I had a Golf 5 petrol 1.6, which also left me because of a gear damage and defective alternator. I didn’t want to take credit and had the yard The Astra will last for a few years without any major problems. Push cake! I don’t want any more damage to occur. Now I’m looking for a RELIABILITY car, as it looks like, I don’t care what kind of frills it is. It should be a diesel, as I drive a lot and be known for reliability. In addition, it should be allowed to pull 1500kg (this can already be a golf). Do you have any tips? I have no idea in which direction I should look around. I paid 5,500€ for the Astra. I just don’t have so much money, but if I want to have something reasonable I probably have to take more in my hand… I think up to 10k would be in it, maybe 12 but there’s really end in the terrain and the car should just last for a long time. I’m really desperate.
