Hello Volvo municipality, question about the indoor noise level in the S80, V70 and S60 cars with diesel engine. My current S60 D5 5G car (163 hp / Bj 2005) has a partly unpleasant resonance (brummen) between the speeds 140 km/h and 160 km/h thus around +/- 3000 tours. It looks relatively loud. Above and below it is pleasantly quiet and cultivated. Since I have driven a V70 D5 BJ 2003 parallel I know how silky a D5 can run. Is this because of the older gear-driver Omatics of the V70 (without gear) or were the older models better damped? The extra price (more insulation wool?) may also have played a role, because the S60 was always significantly cheaper than a V70 gliecerh design. In the optical comparison of the vehicles I could not notice any differences on the components such as engine bearings, exhaust or lining of the engine compartment e.g… Question finally, someone gained insights how the vehicles differ and perhaps in the speed range One thing is much better by the way: the suspension and the comfort of the spring is softer and not so stuccoy at the S60. It may be located at the level lift of the V70…
