Therefore, the question of how much petrol I can take with me in reserve canisters across the border to Germany, or up to which quantities the customs still closes an eye or there are only small penalties. As a standard answer I have heard 20l. However, on the customs side it says that only 10l are allowed. Again others write that you only have to pay the taxes up to 60l (if you are caught). It would be worth taking 60l in canisters.
