S40 1.9D oil measuring rod canceled Good evening! I had a purchase test of the Volvo S40 (year 2002) Phase:II 1.9 Diesel made. (private purchase) The vehicle itself and also the engine is (according to Öamtc) in ordung, however, the oil measuring rod is broken. Is that a problem, and could the rod clog oil bridles, or not? Sorry, I am not a mechanic, and don’t know me well about the Volvo/Renalt engines… What could happen in the worst case? otor works without problems, and according to ÖAMTC is in good condition… If this is not a problem, I will probably buy the vehicle at the weekend and buy a new oil measuring rod from a Volvo dealer.
