Today, like many of you, I have received an advertisement letter from Volvo. They offer to upgrade a stand-up heater for only 444,- euros. “Refitting” is the wrong word. In my car, the necessary hardware is already available, because it has a fuel-powered heater. Therefore, only a new software has to be installed. For me, this is uninteresting, because my XC70 already owns a stand-up heater ex works – and just about that I’m angry now. I have paid the list price (1280 euros). Isn’t that a kind of rip-off? No one told me at the time of purchase that the “hardware” is installed automatically anyway and a software-like retrofit is easily and cheaply possible. So I could have saved more than 800 euros. Or how do you see this? Greetings from the frosty Munich Thomas
