Economical city car

Hello Motor-Talker I live in a beautiful million-sadd in NRW. Unfortunately on the wrong side and unfortunately very on the edge. That’s why I want to approve my first own car. The car should be especially for short distances. Sometimes just shopping or driving to the sports or simply to the next railway stop. to the side job in a other district where I otherwise get bad etc. Highway rides will probably be the exception, although also the occasional ones will occur . Since I am a poor sow (student), the most important thing for me would be that the car comes as cheap as possible in maintenance or fuel consumption. For the purchase price I would like to look at ~2000. If it should make sense to put something on it, I would also do that. I had looked at the Polo 1.4 and the Lupo 1.4 so far. The Lupo seems to be really very economical (average consumption 6.56l Spritmonitor.de ) for this I like the Polo 6n around worlds better what the design, although it swallows with 7,26l a little more and is supposed to have a rather high consumption in the inner city. I am actually guessless and also not a VW fanboy but open for any suggestions. Greeting M_I_Q
