Motor vehicle tax

Hello, I am a little irritated because of a car tax notice that I received today. I have paid 308 EUR car tax for my V50 2.0D with particle filter (Euro 4), first registration 05/2005 so far. Now the tax office wants to look at me retroactively on 01.04. a tax increase of 1.20 EUR per 100 cc. So I should pay in the future 332 EUR per year. However, after all that is known to me, this tax increase applies only to diesel vehicles without particle filter. Can it be that the tax office has been wrong with me? How is that with you? As I have just read, the tax increase applies also to Euro 4 vehicles, which do not comply with the future Euro 5 limit value of 5 mg carbon particles per kilometer. Can it be that our particle filter does not achieve this limit? I can honestly not imagine it. Then it would be meaningless – at least as far as the tax side is concerned. Maybe someone knows more about this topic. Greeting Schelm007
