Winter fit?

Think about buying an Auris hybrid. I’m worried about the temperature resistance of the nickel-metal-hydride battery (NiMh battery) in winter: According to Wikipedia you can’t operate NiMh below 0°C; under -20°C the battery becomes scrap, even if no electricity flows. I’m not clear about any restrictions in the summer. Have an unheated garage in a flat garage group, located from the house near Vienna. Drive sometimes for e.g. a week in a higher mountain valley z for ski holidays, where the car is not started all week and is standing outdoors. Would be grateful for relevant experiences or who can make statements? Greetings Technikfan
