Hello, together; We tested a Model Y a few weeks ago (July-2023) The vehicle had loaded all the Autopilot upgrades (FSD) and in the short time we drove it, the Autopilot system actually did quite well, so short: * Sign recognition on the road: Most were registered * Takeover currently allowed speed: I mean that worked automatically * Curves: Track hold assistant works unscathed, braking before curves works e * roundabouts: braked down to the driveway, then manual take-over required(1) * traffic lights: always stop in front of a traffic light, even if green(2) * display: also shows the oncoming traffic (1): Apparently not allowed by EU directives (still?) automatic driveway into roundabouts? (2): Continued drive must be approved by the driver with the lever (also EU directive?) As far as so good. We have then bought an existing vehicle but only the base autopilot (so no FSD) and since t the behavior seems to be quite different: * Software version: 2023.20.9 * Sign recognition on the highway: Most have been registered * Takeover current speed: only with activated lane hold assistant and only by shift lever * Curves: Track hold assistant works without complaint, but NOT braking before curves * roundabouts: vehicle continues straight ahead if I do not take over before * traffic lights: shows traffic lights in the display, but ignores them * display: oncoming traffic will not be According to Tesla, this is all normal and the difference is that I have NO FSD more at the start now. The driving experience with autopilot becomes (for me at least) much more annoying because the assistants are constantly switching off instead of intervening. Now I would be interested to know if this fits your experience and if it is worth buying at least the EAP. So far I had the impression that the EAP actually only the automa But maybe there’s a good reason to buy it back… Thanks for every hint.
