The engine of my Alfa 146ti (EZ 2/96) gets very warm and only max. approx. 65 degrees (after >10km). The heating is also hardly appealing. What does this look like with your Alfa 145/146 ? When I bought the car from 2 years, the problem was even bigger, because I had at -3 degrees outside temperature max. 50 degrees lt. display. At that time there was still warranty on it, so the dealer has the Therm ostat changed, which made it a bit better (even the above described 65 degrees). Since that was still too little for me (especially because it takes a very long time) I made a complaint again, but I was told that this would be normal. Here in the forum I found some posts, in which low engine temp. was written, so I took it that way. If it gets really cold outside, however, it bothers me considerably ( unfortunately I didn’t have a garage, i.e. car is outside). This year I wanted to tackle the problem even before the big cold. Can it be that the dealer at that time did not exchange the thermostat at all as claimed, but otherwise “repaired” like (e.g. bend up) ? I would have a new thermostat installed if I knew that the problem is gone, but of course have no desire to spend unnecessary money (how much would I have to expect there ?). Are these temperatures with intact thermostat normal (the engine takes 10 km to the 65 Is there any other tips on how to get the engine warm faster ? Thanks and greeting Thorsten P.S.: Motor will be in the city in summer up to about 90 degrees and in winter about 80, so display should be ok.
