Saab-community, recently I met a BMW engineer and as a 3.0 TID driver of course immediately reported about the sinking running bushings of this engine. He did not seem to be particularly impressed by this. He thought running bushings had to be maintained in order to achieve a high mileage. This would not be done at all today and at all BMW dispenses with running bushings, but uses engines constructed differently like other manufacturers.
