Hello together, after having been informed about vehicle maintenance for a long time and everything concerning hand wash, cleaning, care and growth in my repertoire, it was now time for the next logical step and so I recently bought an eccentric polishing machine. This little post is to report about my first walking attempts and possibly help others “beginners” a little further. But before it goes on to the starting position. The aim and goal was now to remove the nevertheless inevitable swirls and other light hairline scrapers as well as to make the little one shine again for the summer.1. The laundry was started with a detailed preparation. To do this, the entire car with the high-pressure cleaner was first freed from the coarsest dirt of the winter and then with the Fix40. Sponge and high-dose CG Citrus Wash & Gloss thoroughly washed to remove the old wax layer as far as possible. Rinse briefly with the HDR, then was kneaded with a mild shampoo / water mixture as a lubricant. I quickly found that this would not be necessary. Therefore, only went over the most important places on the front, but even after that there were almost no residues in the dough. This also makes it unnecessary to wash again.2. The polish Da with the way was now free for the actual polish. Or not?? Oh yes, of course, the careful bonding of the protective parts should not be missing. In addition the well-known 3M Scotch tape in different widths was used. Can be processed so well, however, curves and corners are a bit tricky. But now the hearty handle to the new Liquid Elements T3000, which straps an orange CG Hex Logic Pad on to the act. As a polish the Meguiars Swirl X was used. I was initially skeptical if this already provides a satisfactory result. Since it was also my first attempt with a polishing machine I started a little more cautiously at a not so well visible place and started the first run. (3 small blobs on the pad and disperse on level 1-2 / polishing on level 5-6) Under the spotlight quickly examined the result and see there, all disturbing swirls were already to be removed after a pass. A little stronger scratches were However, as I have already written, I was concerned with the many fine swirls. All in all, therefore, a very positive conclusion for the Swirl X and thus the rest of the car was processed on the same principle. I worked on the inaccessible areas with a polishing sponge and Meguiars Ultimate Compound. Overall, I used up 4 pads for the polish.3. Growing After all the polish residues were removed, just the orange against a black pad swapped and ready for round two. This time as preparation for the wax with the Dodo Juice Lime Prime over it, which is wonderfully easy to process and leaves an incredible smoothness. Had not been necessary, however, I think that with it all polishing residues are finally removed. Thus the working day of the T3000 was finished and it was once again handcrafted. So here with the Lupus Applicator Pad and the shiny varnish with the proven Collinite 476 embalmed. Many would certainly reach for a different summer wax here, however, I have always driven well with the Colli, especially in terms of service life, and am not really convinced that another wax brings a noticeable more shine. How should the paint shine and reflect even more after the Lime Prime passage? (for a metallic varnish well noted) Again polished with MFT and there he stood. The shiny car with its (for another reason) also stood. gleaming gentleman A total of about 8 hours of work. But the effort was worth it. I had hoped to be able to offer some good photos before / after, but it was not possible to make reasonable pictures of the Swirls. A show-off should not be missing so much to the short report! Hope the one or the other had fun while reading. I anyway had my fun despite the strenuous care. Of course, especially at the very successful end result. In this sense to all care providers Cheerful work! NYG356
