R129 versus R230

Dear forum community, at the moment I have a SL 500 R230 as a second car. But it is not suitable for this, because I do not use the car over the winter and in spring regularly have difficulties to get it to run. This year, he does not start and says chassis too deep, although only last year the shock absorbers were renewed at the rear. In short, I will probably reject it, but would not want to do without a safe and comfortable vehicle. Now my question about the R129. r was one of the safest and most advanced vehicles of his time, but at the same time because of its time of origin I think still quite conservative (it just doesn’t hit) and with not too much frills. So is the car quite easy to repair from a factory town (Bosch service and BMW service) with little effort, or does it become as expensive and capricious as the R230 in old age?
