Hello, I recently had a small accident with a Fiat 500 car rental, which I rented from the provider Share Now. After the repair I received an invoice, which seems to me to be very high in relation to the damage. Since I have a driver’s license, but I do not own a car and had no accident so far, I would be interested in a second opinion. The following happened: When I parked again I missed a side-placed street lantern and am I looked at the back of the car and could only see a small crack in the rear bumper (see picture). The street lamp is made of solid steel and undamaged. Since there were no witnesses, I was now faced with the choice to cover up the incident and just keep driving (that’s not even so few doing it at car sharing), or to face the matter and report the accident. I decided to go for more letzeres and report the accident. e the accident. The handling was problem-free: fill out a phone call and a form. So the thing was done for me for the time being. Since basically only some plastic broke, I expected about 300€ to 400€ damage. So far so well. I was not surprised, however, when I got presented at the end of the last week an invoice of ~1300€. In fact I have to pay “only” 750€ excess. The invoice seems to me excessive: spare parts: 4 X S CHRAUBE 6.24€ 2 X LABOUR 7.44€ 4 X CLIP PROCESSING 4.85€ 2 X CLIP PROCESSING 3.26€ 2 X LABOUR CLOTHERS 4.32€ PROCESSING 12.00€ TOTAL SUPPLY PARTS …………………………………………….. 38.87€ Wage (189.00 EUR/STD): PREPARATION PERIOD VEHICLE: 37.80€ LABOUR SPEAKERS AND LOANS: 94.50€ CLOTHING: 103.95€ PROTECTION LABOURERS: 9.45€ DISCRIMINATION FROM INSTITUTION: 189.00€ TOTAL WORKING WITHOUT …………………… …… 434.70€ Coating: STOSSFAENGER H REP LACK UP TO 20%: 103.95€ DECKEL STOSSF H DECKLACKATION: 18.90€ ROAD TIME FOR 2 SHIFT LACKING: 302.40€ TOTAL LACKING INCL MATERIAL …………………………..616.61€ REPERATURE COSTS WITHOUT VAT………………..1 090.18€ REPERATURE COSTS WITH VAT…………………1 297.31€ Apparently, the rear bumper was not even replaced but painted very elaborately. ? The hourly wage of 189€ / h is already quite sporty… Has anyone ever had a similar kind of accident here and then got a similarly high bill? Is this so common in car accidents or am I being dragged over the table here?
