Metal damage – advisor needed….

Good morning, it would take a few tips. My wife had a slight accident with her vehicle this morning. Tin damage (not yet seen – according to description) small dent in the fender, long scratches at the door. According to facts my wife is to blame. The accident opponent was probably in a hurry and after evaluation of his vehicle had no interest in any regulation (on his vehicle – very old – was probably no damage). After a damage description I type an amount between 500,- – 1000,- Euro (really only estimated). My questions would be: Should your own insurance be informed immediately and absolutely (UK with 300 SB)? Can this happen even later (if the damage is definitely determined by a friendly car dealer)?. According to research, the use of the VK would be a downgrading of SF10 to SF4. Can the insurance in this case (if you use the VK) report the new increased contribution for the following year (of course after damage determination). There is an legal protection insurance. How should we act now in principle, in order to keep the costs (if the insurance or repair service is agreed) as low as possible? Thank you Max
