Hello, I had a problem with my uncle’s car yesterday on the highway (Volvo V50. 2.0d). The car has accelerated at once without gas actuation. Since the exhaust came from dense blue-grey smoke, I think that the engine somehow sucked in oil and burned it. But fortunately I managed to choke the engine quickly before it burns the whole engine oil. What could be the cause of this? Defected turbocharger? Could “just” a significantly too high oil level lead to such a thing? What cost would my uncle have to reckon with roughly?
