Yesterday I was able to drive a Rav4 Hybrid Executive with full equipment for an hour. Now you can’t feel a car completely on the tooth in an hour, but I wanted to get an impression of the consumption with speedy driving. I am from Berlin heading north on the A111 and back again. Unfortunately only about 25 km, more time was not. Remarkable was: 15-20 liters current consumption at constant speedo 160-170 km/h. So I wonder if the Rav4 Hybrid is not completely untaug I am driving mostly in urban traffic, but especially buyers with a mixed driving profile should think very well about whether they prefer to buy a diesel. My 9-year-old BMW 320d with 6-speed automatic needs about 7.5-8 liters at the same speed. I also have an explanation for the high consumption: On the one hand, of course, the much larger frontal area compared to Auris and Prius, on the other hand, The 3 electric motors, which are constantly connected to the powertrain, will produce electrical power loss, which is the higher the speed is. Anyway, I was disappointed after the test drive and will now spontaneously not increase the Rav4 hybrid.
