Also here in the forum the question, because it might fit better. I drove the Fiat 500e today and was very pleased with the car. The driving behavior has promised me and the equipment I found quite modern and chic (at least in the upscale La Prima variant). With a driving performance of approx. 10,000km annually, mainly short and medium distance in and around the big city as well as every 4-6 weeks approx. 150km highway to the home, I think to downsize. In the car are rarely more than 2 persons and I don’t need a lot of trunk either. Therefore the consideration of the Fiat 500e. What is not so convincing with the Fiat 500e are the current leasing rates. With the large battery and one or other extra equipment (winter package, LED pig launcher, PDC) it will be difficult to find something under 250 € per month at a term of 3 years. The purchase price would settle at approx. 36k € list price. So after environmental premium approx. 27k €. The leasing rates for 3 years would cost me at least 9k €. To make the leasing more worthwhile, the car would have to be worth less than 18k € after 3 years after deduction of the premiums (if bought at 27k €) (about 50 % of the list price). To the 27k € will be added if car is partially financed. However, with the current high premiums I can hardly estimate how the performance of e-cars is in the coming years. An advantage for the purchase would be the flexibilitä I can well imagine driving the car for more than 3 years, if the driving behaviour does not change fundamentally. I am also more flexible about e.g. the choice of free workshops and whether I can repair minor paint damage or whether I can live with it well. Leasing on the other hand has the advantage that I am only tied to a car for a short time. If the car does not promise me in the long term, I can just do this after 3 years. The industry is very fast-paced at the moment and who knows how far the technology has developed in terms of batteries and e-drive in a few years or how the prices will develop until then. My current leasing runs until next year. So it is to be seen to what extent the BAFA premium is still available next year. However, this would affect both leasing and the purchase. Did you buy or leased? What do you prefer?
