Dear Volvo friends, I have just stumbled on an article in which Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby talks about future engine and model policy (for the first time only in English):http://www.warwickdailynews.com.au/…/ The XC90 II, which is to be published in 2014 and is to be based on the new “Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA)” which will be used for other vehicles as well. If I understand the article correctly, this platform is only for ma ximal 4 cylinders (of course with turbo and depending on the design also with electric hybrid assistances) designed. 5, 6 and 8 cylinders are completely abolished, in the foreseeable future; spoken here is decidedly of 4- (and below 3, possibly even 2-) cylinders with charging and electrical support, which should also cover the power range up to 300hp. So who still wants a car with more cylinders: soon buy and drive long ..;-)
