Insect damage – painting absolutely necessary?

Tomorrow, I caught two unpleasant paint damage on black bonnet on my trip to Berlin. Classic case of stained clear varnish by insects, which I probably didn’t get away fast enough in the end. I hand-polished the corresponding spots (grind paste + Ultimate compound) – it gets a bit better, but even with a machine you won’t get it out properly. So – so to my question… I sealed the car properly with wax. – do I have a higher rust risk at the places, so that I have to go to the paintr? The car is just four years old, so that the painting makes sense – but I would like to avoid that, because something like that happens back again – you can be careful as you want and run around the car with detailers…. Be happy about your opinions…. Greetings Eric
