I came across the fact that the V6 diesel from Ford was actually intended for development for a different oil type than today. Lt. Jaguar is to use the engine oil 5-W30 ACEA C1. However, this has a clearly lowered viscosity. In my old Puma Diesel 2.0l (Ford Mondeo MK3) I am Castrol Magnatec 5-W30 A5 able This oil has an HTHS viscosity of 2.9-3.5 mPas. The C1 but only HTHS ~2.9 mPas. The C3 would have HTHS ~3.5 mPas. -> which would be significantly higher… I wonder if Castrol 5-W40 ACEA C3 or 5-W30 ACEA C3 for the Jaguar is the better oil in the long term than the recommended 5-W30 ACEA C1.
