Dear lady and gentlemen, first of all I wish you all a happy new year. Through a conversation with an acquaintance we got into a little dispute and therefore I would like to get a few opinions in this forum. I drove home last year at night over the country road. Suddenly a deer crossed the road directly in front of my vehicle, the brake path was not enough and I caught this deer. I then got off to secure the road and the Sc to look at, on my car were a few bumps more than before, as far as can be seen in the dark, but otherwise everything was fine, the engine still buzzed like a kitten. However, the deer got it worse, because that was dead. So I packed it for recovery and searched the roadside for other damage. Then I drove further home. Now my friend had seen the new bumps on my car and after their origin So I told him about the recent incident and he was slightly appalled. He thinks I have committed an accident escape! But accident escape can only be done if a thing is damaged that belongs to someone else. Such a deer does not belong to anyone, especially since this thing is no longer alive and is soon used up. A guardrail or other public property has not been damaged, only my vehicle, but since I don’t care whether my vehicle has 20 or 30 dents now u and no repair needed in this case you can not speak of accident escape. Or do I see something wrong? Greetings to the Pieter
